Welcome to Saijo
Mount Ishizuchi, the highest mountain peak in the west of Japan, borders the city of Saijo in the south, and the Seto Inland Sea borders Saijo in the north.
Saijo is a place of scenic beauty.
In the fall, splendid danjiri, mikoshi, and taikodai parade throughout the city during the Saijo Matsuri.
Of the 88 sacred temples in the Shikoku pilgrimage, five are in Saijo.
It is also home to The Railway History Park in Saijo, the only railway museum in Shikoku.
Visitors can receive tours of the manufacturing processes at Asahi Brewery Shikoku in Saijo and the Shikoku Coca-Cola Bottling Co. in Komatsu.
They can also experience making traditional Shuso Japanese paper by hand at Kyodokan in Toyo.
