■Ayanobe Shrine Denchu Yakko
Ayanobe Shrine Festival, held on the third Saturday and Sunday of October, is also a reproduction of Sankinkotai, where Yakko-dochu leads the group carrying Kyobako, and long Japanese style swords (Naginata), Otorige, shotorige and Japanese Spears (kumage yari), followed by miniature shrines (Mikoshi). Ayanobe Shrine Autumn Festival is well known for the denchu Yakko in Matsushita tradition, where they repeatedly strugle and fight to try and move ahead because Mikoshi cannot move on unless the Yakko do. Tanoichihara, the resting place, boasts a large Torii gate, adding an even more historic atmosphere.

Iwane Shrine Tasseled Arrow Throwing Show
■Iwane Shrine Tasseled Arrow Throwing Show
Iwane Shrine Autumn Festival, held on the second Sunday of every October, is a re-enactment of Sankinkotai (the tour of the feudal lord and his men to pay respect to Shogun in Edo) in the form of a Nageyakko line performed according to the tradition of Akasaka ryu. This Nageyakko, first seen in documents dated as far back as 1845, is a magnificent and solemn Festival where the Nageyakko follow dancing lions and continue to progress while throwing keyari up in the air.
