On October 14th - 17th and the second Saturday and Sunday autumn festivals are held in various districts in town.

○Iwane district(excluding Ogo district) On the second Saturday and Sunday of October (From the year 2005)

■Lion Dance
Members from the Myoguchihara Lion Dance Preservation Society go to every house in the district every year and perform the lion dance. Some children in the district act as "naburiko" and manipulate the lions with sticks topped with tassels, called "Bonren." The presence of the children controlling the lions is strong and brave.

■Kagura
At Ishizuchi Shrine in Myouguchikami, some children in the town act as shrine maidens and perform the traditional Kagura dance (sacred Shinto music and dance called Urayasu Kagura) every year on October 15th.
*Due to the schedule change of autumn festival in Iwane district to the Second Saturday and Sunday of October, the Kagura schedule may be also subject to change.

■Child Danjiri
In Myoguchi and Higashioto areas, child Danjiris, floats carried by children, parade around the district and visit the elderly in nursing homes. |

■Portable shrines and Child sumo
Mikoshi, or portable shrines, will be carried around in many districts mostly on childrens' shoulders in an awe inspiring manner. In addition, sumo bouts for children are held at Ishizuchi shrine(in Myoguchi), Kifune shrine(in Oto) and other places. The actions performed during these bouts are quite lively, started with Gyouji's ritual shouts of "Hakkeyoi nokotta" - "Ready, go!" |

| Every year on October 16th, 14 of the town's Daijiris gather at the Komatsu elementary school and a general contest for the best danjiri is performed grandly and gracefully. Ogo's Danjiri from the Iwane district may also join and participate. Tightly packed spectators fully enjoy the Danjiri performance.
The finale of the festival is held on October 17th and culminates at the Mishima shrine. Above all, the act of the floats being carried up the stone stairway is grand and both the carriers and the spectators swell with pride.
