Nakayamagawa Ravine ■Nakayamagawa Ravine

Nakayamagawa Ravine has a fault line that was pushed up tens of millions of years ago. The fault line is part of the median tectonic line, which runs longitudinally through the Japanese archipelago. This ravine is considered to have a very high scientific value and is designated as a natural treasure by the prefecture.
The Hekigan Tosuiro water channel is referred to as Aono Domon of Iyo. It is on the left side of the river, upstream of Kurumi Bridge, and was built by Kisazaemon Ochi, the head of Kurumi Village. He used his own funds and a chisel, taking 10 years to complete it. This water channel extends about 170 meters including a 36-meter tunnel.
